The game started with a kickoff return for a touchdown from Owen-Gage, but from then on, the Pirates took control and never let up. Peck responded with 24 points of its own in the first quarter to take a commanding 24-6 lead headed into the second. The Pirates continued the offensive outpouring with 14 more points in both the second and third quarters before scoring just six more in the final frame for the win.

Cody Babcock finished the game 2-for-3 passing with 36 yards and a touchdown under center. Robar had 107 yards on 10 rushes, reaching the end zone once. Nathan Alfaro had seven rushes for 67 yards and a touchdown and Babcock rushed for 66 yards on seven carries and two touchdowns. Caleb Potter had three rushes for 66 yards and touchdown and Kyle Vincent picked up 32 yards with a touchdown on eight carries. Aaron Booth led the Pirates in receiving with one catch for 26 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, Nolan Sarnac led the team in tackles and was followed by Adam Robinson.

“We started off slow. We kicked off and they ran it back for a score and it kind of caught us off guard,” said Peck coach Rob McDaniel following the game. “From then on, we were able to control the ball and move the ball up the field, scoring on all but one possession.”

Peck, 2-1, was slated to play Carsonville-Port Sanilac this week, but the game was forfeited because CPS does not have a varsity team. The Pirates will be back in action on Friday, September 21 at Dryden.
