Golf Outings is provided by View Newspaper Group to give area service clubs, charitable organizations, non-profits, sports booster clubs and other civic and community organizations an opportunity to publicize their golf outings. The Michigan State University Genesee County Alumni Club annual scholarship golf scramble will be held August 12 at THE CAPTAIN’s CLUB AT WOODFIELD. Registration at 8a.m. with a 9a.m. shotgun start. Cost of $75 per golfer includes golf, continental breakfast and lunch. Giveaways and raffle prizes to include tickets to MSU vs. OSU football game. The Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan will hold their 18th annual Golf Classic Fore the Girls on August 20 at FLINT ELKS CLUB. Shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. with check in and lunch beginning at 11 a.m. Cost of $120 per golfer includes cart and green fees, lunch, silent auction and dinner. The 10th annual Marlette Regional Hospital Foundation Driving for Health golf outing will be held September 6 at LAPEER COUNTRY CLUB. Fun and exciting contests and games are planned including an air cannon and inflatable dinosaur. Proceeds benefit the Marlette Regional Hospital acute care/ swing bed renovation project. Prizes for first through third places, longest drive and closest to the pin. Proceeds benefit North Branch boys’ basketball and golf. The Hurley Trauma Center’s 34th annual fall golf classic will be held September 10 at FLINT GOLF CLUB. Teams of four have a choice of morning or afternoon shotgun that will include breakfast, lunch, dinner, contests, an all day silent auction and other great prizes. This event raises funds for Hurley Medical Center’s Level I Trauma & Burn Center and Hurley Children’s Hospital’s Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. The American Legion Post 267 will host its 18th annual Best-Ball Scramble September 16 at COPPER RIDGE GOLF CLUB. Sign-in at8a.m.witha9a.m.start.Costis$300 for a four-man team or $280 if paid by May 1. Price includes continental breakfast, lunch at the turn and buffet supper once all golfers turn in their cards. Prize of $300 for first place, $50 for second and $25 for third. Everyone receives a ticket for free merchandise. Proceeds used to assist military veterans and related community programs. Closest to the line, putting contest, Vegas hole, 50/50 and prizes. Bring a toy for the kid’s barrel. All proceeds benefit Christmas for Kids and are distributed through Holiday Depot.
